Genuine VW California bed mesh luggage net, VW partnr 7H7067560.
This is a very rare to find original product. It’s different from the child safety net and it’s fitted horizontal in the pop-top opening above the front seats. The net is very handy at night for book, iPad, torch, glasses, t-shirt etc..
How it works: 2 rods are mounted on the roof frame right and left in the open entrance to the roof bed. The net hangs between these two poles for storing various things, but the access to the roof bed is blocked with it. So, after you’ve finished cooking and you stored things in it, you can empty the net again, push it aside on the lengthways built-in bars, fold down the roof bed, crawl in, pull the net forward again, use the net for the night, and if you have to go out at night you can slide it aside.
Not included: You only need to drill four 3 mm holes and add four tiny screws.
